One Huron River community says “stop the environmental ruin of the Huron River”

Earlier this month, Hamburg Township sent a letter to the city of Wixom stating, “stop the environmental ruin of the Huron River.” This was in response to the “ASTRONOMICAL” levels of PFAS in the Huron River. The EPA defines PFAS as “a diverse group of compounds resistant to heat, water, and oil.”

There has been lots of media coverage regarding this issue. Environmental groups have been urging the EPA to establish a clear standard for PFAS levels. For more information, visit the Huron River Watershed Council‘s page dedicated to “PFAS and the Huron River.”
